A virtuosic violin duo written after studies with Samuel Adler in Berlin, the work unfolds as a tense, melancholic dialogue between two lovers, intertwining passion and unease.

In the summer of 2011, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Berlin to study with one of the great composers and teachers of the last half century, Samuel Adler. Under his guidance, I wrote this virtuosic duo as a kind of melancholy and tense dialogue between two lovers, hence the title of the work.
