About Saad Haddad
Composer
Saad Haddad (b. 1992) is a composer whose music achieves a “remarkable fusion of idioms” (New York Times), exploring the space between Western art music and Middle Eastern traditions. His work has been commissioned and performed internationally by ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Orchestre national d’Île-de-France, and Ensemble Proton Bern. He holds degrees from Columbia, Juilliard, and USC, and leads a private studio of composers worldwide. He lives in New Jersey with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
About Peter Koury
Consortium Co-Leader & Premiering Soloist
Peter Koury is a saxophonist and educator based in Cincinnati, where he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Saxophone Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under Dr. James Bunte. A dedicated advocate for new music, he co-directs the Cincinnati New Music Ensemble and has commissioned and premiered numerous works by living composers, including leading the consortium for Saman Shahi’s Zekr, premiered at the 2026 NASA Biennial Conference. He teaches across Kentucky and Ohio and directs the Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble’s Saxophone Ensemble.
